smell I adore... day 8

day 8. a smell I adore. I immediately thought my baby. baby lotion, baby soap and just that baby smell...that's a smell I adore. my baby.

As I thought more about it, I thought how many times people have asked me if I miss Jersey. simply, no.
I miss my family. I miss my friends. I miss Pizza and bagels but really that's it.
I do miss the things that being from Jersey we take for granted.... the seasons.
I did miss the tulips & hyachints blooming this year. THAT is a smell that is engraved just as the cherry blossom trees. I was lucky enough to catch a few blooming in SC and GA on our way south but it's not the same..
so here it is. my smell I adore.

it's hard to capture YOU!

I am defined in many ways just like my blogger profile says.

"I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter, niece and aunt. I am a photographer. I am a Jersey girl." Doing these photos in a day take me back to my days at county when our professor would give out an assignment and I would have such a detailed "great" idea I had to follow through with... all my other class mates would be in the dark room printing while I was just developing my first of many rolls. I don't know how to do it simple. that is me. open, honest, detailed and a bit of a perfectionist but at the end of this day... when I think of me I think of the 4 of us. myself, my husband, my baby boy and my furry girl. that's me. I'm only 1/4 without them. and crazily this is the only photo of the 4 of us....

Day 5- bird.

Yup. I suck. It's 9pm and was out enjoying the weather today so I forgot all about photo of the day. I do however happen to have this. A photo I sold.... Of a bird. ;)
Maybe it's just me but I am actually surprised at the amount of cardinals in Florida. I always associated them with winter.

FUN! day 4

Woo hoo! today I didn't cheat. at all. took photos on my camera AND took it today :) Only took four days!!
I am so excited that this photo of the day thing was a kick in the ass I needed to blog more often. I truly have no clue how other photographers do it. I don't have a busy work schedule full of clients etc ( yet) and can't even keep up with a blog? Seriously, I give mad props to the mommas that do both more often then I do.
I am able to do this so early cuz my baby is in the bath with his cousin while my sister scrubs them down from getting dirty at the park today...
I couldn't decide on my favorite to use for FUN so here is two.

at any age the swings is still fun.

Skyline

Okay, okay... so I cheated today too. Not a cell phone photo but not a photo I took today. I knew I had a skyline photo saved so I cheated..... and no, I don't feel bad about it.... if you read more you'll see why.
Here it is, my photo of the day #2 - skyline-

I took this photo a few weeks ago from a place that has a beautiful  view but would love to never go back to for the reasons I was.

This is the view from Tampa General Hospital.

My brother in law, Greg was in a serious motorcycle accident on March 28.

It is a day a lot of us would love to but will never forget.

You never realize how with in a blink of an eye how quickly things change.

I always say with my photography that's what I love to capture and there my words are in front of me with a totally different meaning.

Funny how life happens like that huh?

Greg is doing incredible now. He is a miracle. Even though I went to Catholic school, was raised Catholic and believing in God I never had with my own eyes believed more after seeing so much prayer and watching Greg progress before my eyes. I truly believe Greg is here now not only thanks to the Doctors but to God for listening to the 1,000s that prayed.

This isn't a oh no "she's moved south and found God" blog and now is preaching blog... I swear. I am still the Jersey, cursing, honest, sarcastic pessimistic bitch you all know. ;)

The photo of the skyline was from the same day I took this photo.

It's my sister Janet, my BIL Greg and my gorgeous niece B.

As my Virgo/Artist head works or wanders I should say I couldn't keep this blog just about the skyline. I had to share more..

this dolphin along with stingrays and many other dolphins were there all the time!! Perhaps a photo of them should have been my peace. I could sit there all day and watch them, it was amazing! ( my real peace photo didn't pan out, I wanted to capture John, K & Shadow on the lania with the door locked and me on the inside but it just wasn't workin out)

May Day Photo

May Day. May 1st. how in the world did that happen? I said I would blog more and I have 100 ideas but never seem to find the time.... then as I sit looking on facebook or pinterest, checking email then playing a game on my phone getting mad I am wasting my time on it all.

I have taken on the May photo in a day challenge and invited many friends to do the same... I am loving seeing everyones perspective on peace.. so much it inspired me to blog. go figure. :) 
 My original goal was no cell phone photos. day one. fail.

this was my day one photo- peace. I had many visions as soon as I saw the word peace but just didn't put any effort into it. that's the truth.

I was lazy. went to pay my rent and thought hmm that looks peaceful.

I also thought about writing a blog about the craziness that has happened since we have become Florida residents but most of it doesn't go with my
"peace" picture. so I will just continue to be lazy and add another photo for peace.

is a terrible blogger

hmmm... so I said once a week and here it is how long later? I'm a terrible blogger. terrible. BUT I have been busy... relocated to FLORIDA!!!
I love, love, love it here!! One day I will be more structured and will blog often, for now I am SUPER excited to annouce my first Tampa area photo minis!
Not gonna lie- super excited also means super nervous.

I would LOVE to become a full time busy photographer so this is my first big step forward. Wish me luck and PLEASE stay tuned- I will be back ;)

20 fingers, 20 toes....

I know, I said I was going to do a blog a week- here is it 3 weeks later... I do have good reason... my laptop decided to leave me. My mom is kind enough to let me borrow hers so stay tuned. There will be more. :)

Last week I had the honor of doing my first twin session.
I had so many ideas running through my head on the ride there. When I got there I was in awe how adorable and tiny they were I totally went blank.

Here is a little sneak peak-

I may have been sidetracked my Baby "S" that was only calm if I held his hand... heart melted. there really is something so grounding about babies.  Momma wants me to come back and believe me I can not wait!

Holidays.... a little late

I haven't blogged in soooo long! I am going to make it a goal ( not resolution) to blog at least ONCE a week. I love it I just am terrible about uploading photos and resizing them etc. I hate the digital era. When everything was film I was at One Hour Photo within minutes of my last shutter click. Now, I upload photos maybe once a month to my computer, then if I'm lucky adding them to my lab or using a coupon code for free prints and actually seeing pictures in my hands every three months. It's terrible. So here it is, the best of my holidays all in one...
